for studentsThe Texas After Violence Project has worked and studied with students from Huston-Tillotson University, St. Edward's University, the University of Texas, and McCallum High School in Austin; the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio; Williams College in Massachusetts; and United World College in Montezuma, New Mexico. Whether you are coming to explore, to study, to offer an empathetic ear to your neighbors, to help promote understanding and justice in your community, or for any combination of these reasons, we welcome you, too. There are many ways in which you can assist our project. Some of them are listed here, at Critical Tasks. Please click here if you are a college or university student wishing to work for us and hoping to gain academic credit. If you are interested in working with the Texas After Violence Project, please 1) Read this website carefully. You'll find many of your questions answered here. 2) Review the requirements. 3) Please complete this application for interns, community historians, & other volunteers. 4) Send the completed application to us at info@texasafterviolence.org or P.O. Box 41476, Austin, Texas, 78704. We will read your application and make an appointment to meet you in person. 5) Plan to come to our training sessions, which will be held on Friday afternoons fro 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. (But you don't have to wait for the next training session to apply and come meet with us.) 6) Review the Texas After Violence Project Code of Conduct. If you have questions, please ask. Each person working with the project must agree to abide by the code of conduct. Not in Austin, but still want to participate? That's great! Please get in touch with us. We interview people across Texas and are looking for friends and coworkers in every part of the state. Let's see how we can work together. Thank you for your interest. We look forward to meeting you! |
