![]() Meghan Currey Meghan Currey joined the Texas After Violence Project in January of 2010. She is a candidate for the Master of Science in Information Studies (MSIS) at the UT School of Information. Originally from the Chicago area, Meghan obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in cinema production and women's studies. Her interests include digital archives, public librarianship, digital media, film and video art, and underrepresented populations. Before coming to the Texas After Violence Project, Meghan worked as a film archivist. Meghan will be with the project in the Spring 2010 semester to provide technical assistance and facilitate our collaboration with the Human Rights Documentation Initiative (HRDI) of the University of Texas Libraries. As digital archivist and overall coordinator for our HRDI-related work, Meghan will show us how to prepare interviews* for posting and how to create a indexed database of these interviews using the advanced software, Glifos Media Creator. Meghan also serves as our liason with HRDI-UT staff. We're thrilled! * No interview will be posted online, via HRDI or in any other way, unless and until the interview narrator has reviewed and approved the audiovisual recording and transcript; donated these interview materials to the Texas After Violence Project for educational and non-commercial use; named a specific date for public release of the interview materials, and that date has arrived or passed; and granted explicit written permission for web publication. |
