![]() Antony Cherian Antony Cherian is a public historian. He has produced oral-history based audio and video documentaries for Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas Historical Commission sites, as well as for the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. With Mark Westmoreland, Tony Cherian produced Truth I Ever Told, a documentary based on oral histories of people in a Black farming community in rural Washington County. Truth I Ever Told won the American Folkore Society's 2002 Zora Neale Hurston Prize. His more recent documentary film, By Starlite, looks at thee lives of Indian-American families who live and work in roadside motels, making their homes in places of transience. Tony Cherian is an Assistant Instructor and doctoral candidate in the School of Information, University of Texas at Austin. Cherian and Mark Westmoreland are founders of Seed Documentary Co-operative. |
