![]() Jennifer graduated in 2005 from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in English. She took a hiatus from school to sling books and host author events at BookPeople, Texas' largest independent bookstore, before entering graduate school in 2008. She is currently a second year Master’s student in the Women’s and Gender Studies program at UT. She has worked in MHMR, with abused and neglected children in Austin, and with homeless children in Ghana, West Africa. She travelled to Ghana for the second time in January where she conducted interviews with governmental and non-governmental organizations on the topic of domestic violence. She loves to travel and has been to Australia, Fiji, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ghana, NY, San Francisco, LA, San Diego, Chicago, London, Oxford, and Paris. She calls Austin home, however, and has lived here for almost nine years. Jennifer came on with the Texas After Violence Project as an intern in January 2010.
